iSMARTtrain supports the following:
No. iSMARTtrain does not currently support the Polar IR-USB Adaptor. The reason for this is that the device is not completely compliant with the USB1.1 specification. This has been confirmed for us by engineers working for Apple's USB development team.
No. We don't currently support the Polar IR-USB2 adaptor. The device needs specific device drivers written to communicate with the Polar HRMs. We hope to support it in a future release.
No. The built-in IR port is a receiver only, and we need to be able to transmit to the Polar HRM to initiate the data transfer, and to send data to the device.
We recommend the Keyspan USA-19HS Serial-USB adaptor for use with iSMARTtrain, but any device which is supported by Mac OS X, and is physically compatible with the Polar Interface (i.e. has the right plug on it) should work.
You don't have the drivers for your USB-Serial adaptor loaded.
iSMARTtrain only supports the devices listed above.
We will look at adding support for other devices as the development of iSMARTtrain progresses. Our primary aim for the moment is to support the Polar range of devices. If a manufacturer would like Yellow Field Technologies to support one of their devices in iSMARTtrain, please contact us. We require details of the unit's communication protocol, and, ideally, a sample unit on loan for testing.
We welcome feedback from our users. Please contact us with details of you request.
